On the long road of life we find countless friends who get lost in the rush of life at some point or another, but the book is such a friend." There is one that never leaves us, anywhere, that is why the importance of the book cannot be diminished in any age.
I can say with certainty that the knowledge gained from reading a book cannot be gained from watching computer or TV, the world may develop as much as it wants but the importance of the book cannot be lost. Who can understand the importance of the book better than the Chinese nation. This nation has made the book its blanket and today a light is shining like a star on the horizon of the world as it progresses.
The book fair held here is also a manifestation of the Chinese nation's love for books. One of the most important of these is the Beijing International Book Fair. This year marks the 28th session of the festival.
There is also a permanent chapter in my memory in Beijing of the Beijing International Book Fair. This is the third time in a row that I am participating in this festival. For the first time he came with his dear friend Shakir Sahib.
Now I have to deal with office matters twice. The exhibition hall of this festival is far away from our residence. So I and my Urdu service partner, Effat Sahiba, left early in the morning to attend. We were welcomed in the exhibition hall by Ms. Syeda Saira Raza, posted at the Pakistani Embassy. There was also a meeting with Mr. Ahmed Farooq Sahib, Deputy Head of Mission, who was looking very happy in the company of books.
The 28th Beijing International Book Fair kicked off in Beijing on the 14th. Pakistan is the special guest of this year's festival. An inaugural ceremony was held on the same day. Addressing the function, Ambassador of Pakistan Mr. Moinul Haq said that this year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan.
It is an honor for Pakistan to participate in this book fair as a special guest on this occasion. Expressing his views, he said that the pavilions of Pakistan and Chinese Communists are located side by side in the festival which is an expression of the friendly relations between the two countries. He said that many Pakistani books have been introduced using this platform.
This platform will be helpful in introducing Pakistani literature and culture to the Chinese people. The opening ceremony was specially attended by Mr. Huang Khanming, Member of the Political Bureau of the Chinese Communist Party and Head of the Communist Party's Publicity Department. The festival will run until September 18. The opening ceremony was attended by Chinese guests as well as officials and media representatives from the Pakistani Embassy in Beijing.
During this time, the Ambassador of Pakistan continued to introduce the distinguished guests to Pakistani books and paintings in the exhibition. Introductory books of important tourist destinations of Pakistan were also of interest to the visitors at the Pakistani stall.
This festival and the interest of the people in this festival shows that there is no one better than a book. Every line of a good book is full of wisdom, a source of pure thought and a guide for its reader.
In this age of social and electronic media invasion, if a person is associated with a book, there is no doubt that he is a man of understanding. The magnificent pavilion of the Communist Party of China at the Beijing International Book Fair was also worth a visit. The pavilion was beautifully decorated. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.
On this occasion, there was a lot of activity and hustle and bustle. I was also very happy to see the stall of Pakistan China Global Publishing House. There were travelogues of Pakistanis related to China and Urdu translations of Chinese literature. There was a lot of talk about children, especially at this stall.
Great
